The Bree Collaborative is seeking public feedback on its draft Blood Pressure Screening and Control Report and Guidelines, which aim to improve hypertension detection and management across Washington State. Comments are due by Dec. 21 and will help shape the final recommendations submitted to the Washington State Health Care Authority.

All comments will be reviewed anonymously by Bree staff before submitting the final set of guidelines for review and approval by the Bree Collaborative. Please read the draft materials before completing the public comment form.

PROVIDE PUBLIC COMMENT

This supplement was developed by the Bree Collaborative and the Blood Pressure Control workgroup. Bree guidelines are informed by the current best available clinical and scientific evidence from the literature and a consensus of expert opinion and are intended for use in addition to, rather than a replacement of, other published clinical guidance. Guidelines are intended for several audiences including providers, healthcare facilities, health plans, employer purchasers, state agencies, public health and others.

About This Public Comment Process

  • The workgroup reviews and uses public comments to develop the report submitted to the Bree Collaborative for adoption.
  • The final report and guidelines will be submitted to the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA). This state agency oversees Washington’s largest health care purchasers – Medicaid and the Public Employees Benefits Board Program (PEB).
  • Collaborative guidelines guide state purchasing policies for these programs.
  • The Collaborative also works to promote implementation of the guidelines across Washington State.
