Washington has launched a statewide hotline for prescribing buprenorphine, a medication for treating opioid use disorder. The hotline is available to anyone, lowering barriers for individuals to access this lifesaving medication.
Join the Washington Department of Health and the University of Washington Department of Emergency Medicine for a webinar on Jan. 12 from noon to–1 p.m. to learn more about this initiative. The aim is to ensure anyone with opioid use disorder can access the care needed to reach their recovery goals. While the hotline does not replace prescribing buprenorphine when a patient receives care in the hospital, it is an excellent resource for those individuals who were not yet ready to begin treatment at the time of service and for individuals who do not need to seek hospital care.
