The Rural Quality Everyday Extraordinary Award recognizes a rural hospital completing an exceptional quality improvement project. Successful applications should outline a project addressing a significant problem, employ a data-driven approach, consider culture of safety in implementing a solution and explain what results were achieved.
Ideally, projects should be scalable for wider adaptation by other rural hospitals. The 2026 award will be given at the WSHA and AWPHD Rural Hospital Leadership Conference (June 28-July 1 in Chelan) and announced publicly after.
Last year’s winner was Summit Pacific Medical Center for its innovative tele-sitting program.
We accept applications for this award year-round, with an annual deadline of April 1. Visit the WSHA Rural Awards Dashboard for more information or to apply. For questions, please contact Megan Herman at [email protected]. (Megan Herman)
