Last week marked a major milestone — we officially completed the third quarter of the 2025 Medicaid Quality Incentive (MQI) program! As we enter the final three months of the year, here are a few important reminders to keep us on track:
Eligibility & incentives
- Most Prospective Payment System hospitals are eligible to receive the Medicaid Quality Incentive — provided both quality and financial requirements are met. Critical Access Hospitals, while not eligible for the financial incentive, can still participate and qualify for Achievement in Excellence Awards presented by WSHA at the Rural Healthcare Leadership Conference.
Voluntary participation, meaningful impact
- Participation in the MQI program is voluntary and reflects a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and improving the lives of all Washingtonians.
CFO attestation update
- The CFO attestation is no longer required. However, it’s essential that your CFO or their designee is aware of the financial data submissions required by the Department of Health (DOH). These submissions must accompany your quality data to qualify for the incentive.

The CDC has opened COVID-19 vaccine ordering for the 2025-2026 season!
Providers who completed pre-orders should start receiving vaccines within a week. View the letter from the Office of Immunization. (Taya Briley)
