Revisions to state health resources strategy effective this month

Pursuant to SB 5568 (2025), the Office of Financial Management (OFM) will begin revising the Washington State Health Plan by developing a comprehensive statewide health resources strategy. The strategy will be reviewed and updated every four years.

To support this effort, the law expands OFMs’ access to relevant statewide data, including the all-payer claims database. OFM is required to submit the state health resources strategy to the governor, legislature and Department of Health (DOH) by Dec. 31, 2027. WSHA supported advancement of SB 5568 during the 2025 legislative session and worked with the bill sponsor, Sen. Cleveland, to ensure the work remained within OFM.
