H.R. 1 introduces significant federal Medicaid changes that will affect coverage, eligibility and hospital financing, creating real operational and financial challenges for hospitals across Washington.
WSHA is focused on standing alongside members as the law is rolled out—providing timely guidance to help hospitals navigate new requirements, protect patient access to coverage, and mitigate disruptions to care.
At the state and federal levels, WSHA is working to shape implementation decisions, elevate hospital concerns, and secure flexibility wherever possible.
Our goal is to reduce administrative burden, support sustainable funding strategies, and help hospitals continue delivering essential services to the communities they serve.
